Wills & Estate Planning
Wills, powers of attorney, and estate planning for your family’s future.

Overview
Wills & Estate Planning in Surrey, BC
This section covers the documents that put your own wishes in writing: who gets your property, who manages your affairs if you cannot, and who makes personal and health care decisions for you.
A Last Will and Testament says who inherits your estate, who acts as executor, and who looks after any minor children. An Enduring Power of Attorney appoints someone to manage your financial and legal affairs if illness or absence leaves you unable to. A Representation Agreement appoints someone to make personal and health care decisions on your behalf. Together, these three are usually prepared in a single appointment.
We also act on Family Trusts, for clients who want to hold assets in trust rather than in their own name, and Committeeship, for families dealing with the BC Supreme Court process when someone becomes incapable without a Power of Attorney in place. Each page below explains what the document does, what it costs, and what we need from you. If you are not sure which documents you need, contact our office and we will walk through your situation.

03
Representation Agreement
A Representation Agreement for your personal and health care decisions, including Section 9 end-of-life authority.
04
Family Trusts
Setting up a family trust in BC: trust deed, trustees and beneficiaries, billed hourly with an estimate on request.

Why Cube Law
Why Choose Our Wills And Estate Planning Lawyers?
One appointment for your core documents
Your Will, Power of Attorney and Representation Agreement are usually prepared and signed together, in one visit.
Lawyer-drafted for your situation
Your documents are prepared by a lawyer, not a template, so your executor, your attorney and your beneficiaries are set up for how your own estate actually looks.
Fixed, upfront pricing
Our packages and standalone document fees are fixed. You know your cost before your appointment.
You keep control while you are able
These documents only take effect when you need them to — your Will on death, your POA and Representation Agreement if you become unable to act for yourself.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Do both spouses need to attend in person?
Yes. Both clients must attend in person for signing; we cannot prepare or witness these documents remotely.
Can you give me tax advice for my estate?
No, we do not provide tax advice. Please speak to your accountant about the tax implications of your estate plan.
Can I prepare my Will, POA and Representation Agreement together?
Yes. Most clients prepare all three in a single appointment, usually under two hours for a couple. Contact our office to book, and we will send an intake form first.
Do you offer package pricing?
Yes. Our Essential and Enhanced packages each cover a Will, Power of Attorney and Representation Agreement at a fixed price for an individual or a couple. Each document is also available on its own.
What happens if I don’t have a Will?
BC law decides how your estate is divided, which may not reflect your wishes and can add delay and cost for your family.
What happens if I become incapable without a Power of Attorney?
Your family may need to apply to the BC Supreme Court for a committeeship order, which can take months. A Power of Attorney avoids that process.
